    Sarah Lieberman | Senior Account Manager, LM&O Advertising

    Sarah is no stranger to Ad 2 DC and the DC advertising community. She is one of the founders of Ad 2 DC and has served in numerous roles since its inception including Chair Elect and Social Chair. In 2009 Sarah was a member of the Steering Committee who worked on Advertising Week DC, the area’s largest event for advertising, marketing and communications professionals. In her role she handled everything from event promotion to registration design, to coordinating show materials and producing the show from the booth. She is a member of the 2011 ADWKDC Steering Committee again this year.

    Sarah is a Senior Account Executive at LM&O Advertising where she works with clients like Events DC, Military Officers Association of America, The Fairmont, Washington, DC, The Washington Redskins, The National Guard, Capital Area Food Bank and ThanksUSA. She also brings a wealth of account management knowledge from her experience on accounts including Chevy Chase Bank, Sunrise Senior Living, K. Hovnanian Homes, Next Day Blinds, Newland Communities, Kimpton Hotels, Charlie Palmer Steak and the Bobby Mitchell Hall of Fame Classic. Sarah graduated from American University with a BS in Business Administration – Marketing and a minor in Communications.

    Why she loves AD2: “It’s inspiring to work with such a passionate group of individuals. I’ve met some of my closest friends through Ad 2 DC. Knowing there is a network of motivated, smart people across the US working to elevate Ad 2 as the premiere organization for young professionals in advertising, marketing and communications is invaluable.”

    Strange but true: “I talk, eat and walk in my sleep. I have been known to have full conversations with friends having no memory of it whatsoever.”

    Whitney Jarrell

    Whitney got her bachelor’s degree in Advertising from Marshall University. While at Marshall, she had the opportunity to study International Advertising and Communications abroad for a year in Cambridge, England. Whitney has been involved in the AAF since 2003, and was very active with Ad 2 Roanoke before becoming the Chair of Ad 2 DC in 2010.

    Why she loves AD2: “Ad 2 is doing what I love, and having a blast doing it with people who are as passionate as I am. It’s a group where you are a friend the minute you walk in the door. Like everyone else says, why wouldn’t you want to be a part of that?”

    Favorite DC spot: “I have always liked the Renwick Gallery where the Ghost Clock, and Game Fish pieces are displayed. But recently I have discovered hiking in Carter Rock and that is pretty high on my list too.”

    Strange but true: “I LOVE sour Jelly Belly’s and popcorn…together.”

    Christopher Beauchemin | Marketing Specialist, U.S. Postal Service

    Christopher moved here from Orlando at the end of 2009 where he served as the Membership Chair for Ad2 Orlando. During his term, membership increased and Ad2 Orlando earned third place in the National Ad2 Club Achievement competition. Christopher is a marketing specialist under the Customer & Industry Marketing division of the U.S. Postal Service. He is responsible for developing event marketing and sales strategies utilized with all tradeshows, events and sponsorships that the USPS is a part of.

    Why he loves AD2: “Ad2 members are given opportunities to take their membership and make it their own. Whether you’re looking to meet new people with similar interests, make new friends, gain hands-on experience or learn the latest industry trends, Ad2 offers it all.”

    Sarah Polli | New Business Development Manager – Beverage Division, G&G Outfitters

    Sarah Polli graduated from East Carolina University and moved to DC after graduation to work for G&G Outfitters, a promotional merchandising firm. Sarah manages the Mike’s Hard Lemonade account and has recently been promoted to New Business Development Manager for the Beverage Division at G&G Outfitters. She is a proactive & dynamic young professional that enjoys all the opportunities offered in DC, traveling and the ECU Pirates!

    Charles Panagopoulos | Account Manager, The Media Trust

    Charles is a DC native and an aspiring Mad Man. Graduating from the Art Institute of Washington in Advertising, he is a passionate ad2er always on the move. His 9-5er as an account manager for The Media Trust fulfills his need to interact with other humans on the daily. The energy he gains from gut busting workouts translates to his off-the-wall ideas. We’re pleased to have Charles chair the 2011-2012 Membership Committee.

    Why you LOVE Ad2: Ad2? Excuse me, I’m Ad3. Life-long friends. Passionate professionals. Its my other family.

    Steven Flick | Account Executive, RTCRM

    Steven moved to Washington D.C. in 2009 and currently works at RTCRM, part of the Wunderman network. As an Account Executive on the AARP Health account, he is a client facing tactical leader that works with the agency team to make sure the client’s goals and objectives are met in every creative execution.

    In addition to his work with RTCRM, Steven has a background and self-noted minor obsession with digital media buying/selling strategies and technology that he developed while working for digital ad transparency startup The Media Trust.

    Why he loves AD2: “The makeup of Ad2DC members truly shows that advertising goes well beyond the ideas of traditional and digital media. It’s all of these members that come from so many backgrounds and locations that helps create passion and ideas that will shape the future of our industry.”

    Strange but true: I’ve produced and booked concerts for years. My work with bands was recognized when I was casted to be on the pilot reality show produced by AOL, “The Biz.”-If you do some digging you can see videos on You Tube.

    Brad Rizza | Communications, Pappas Group

    Originally from Massachusetts, Brad currently manages all strategic communications needs for DC-based advertising agency, Pappas Group. Prior to joining Pappas, Brad spent two years in event management and fundraising, working for both political and entertainment clients with one of DC’s most successful consulting groups. Brad has also developed new program marketing at Discovery Communications  and created social media and online marketing programs for clients such as DuPont, Georgetown University and Software AG while with EyeTraffic Media.

    Brad graduated cum laude with a B.A in public communication and a minor in marketing from American University where he received awards from organizations such as Ogilvy & Mather and America’s Promise.

    Corey Jones | Associate Creative Director, The Borenstein Group

    Corey’s journey began in 2003 at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where he initially studied to be an animator, but eventually discovered his true calling in Graphic Design. He worked for a few agencies throughout Pennsylvania and Washington, DC. He now serves as ACD at The Borenstein Group with focus on digital media. He love the outdoors, fishing and sports and is a HUGE! Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

    Favorite DC spot: Any of the sports stadiums and arenas.

    Strange but true: “Before becoming a designer, I wanted to be a chef, boxer, NBA
    player, herpetologist, illustrator and animator…I think I made a good choice?”

    Justin Jones | CEO / Creative Director – Knight Design Group, LLC

    Specializing in communication, brand design and promotion, Justin lives by the quote “Practice Safe Design, Use a Concept”. Also a professional photographer, he has won numerous awards in both fields.

    Justin graduated from Stevenson University with a B.S. in Visual Communication Design. He has been accredited personally with the complete and successful brand and logo consulting for institutions and organizations such as the Tucker Diggs Foundation, Wesley College: Scholars Day Program and The Creig Northrop Team of Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc., to name a few. As a designer for The Creig Northrop Team of Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc.; the second largest realtor in the USA, Justin re-branded the Northrop brand to include letterhead, business cards, marketing collateral and many miscellaneous pieces.

    Justin is also a member of The Columbia Business Exchange, The Taproot Foundation; a non-profit pro bono design organization that makes business talent available to organizations working to improve society, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. When he is not saving the world – one design at a time, you can usually find him on the tennis court.

  • Government Relations Chair

    Anh Nguyen | Marketing and Communications Specialist, InfoReliance Corp.

    Anh is a quasi-DC native (born in California, but mainly grew up in DC). She
    graduated from the University of Mary Washington in Virginia with a BS in Business
    Administration and Marketing. She has a passion for copywriting and is experienced
    in developing in-house marketing and public relations materials in many different
    industries. Her background includes the government contracting, IT consulting,
    computer software, professional associations, and performing arts industries.

    Favorite place in DC: Dupont Circle, so many fabulous places to eat and hangout.

    Why she loves AD2: “I like being able to bond with other professionals who understand why it takes hours to develop a strong e-mail subject line in 50 characters or less.”

    Strange but true: My parents never fed me candy as a child and now I can’t handle eating anything too sweet.

    Karl Boehm | Principal Strategist, Boehm Communications

    Karl is a seasoned marketing strategist. Originally from the D.C. area, Karl relocated to Los Angeles a few years ago to run a small agency. Now that he is back, he is very enthusiastic about the developing marketing-communications and advertising industries here in the Washington area.

    Favorite place in DC: “I’m usually somewhere between Mid-town and Adams Morgan, but I will go anywhere that has an art worth supporting.”

    Why he loves AD2: “D.C. hasn’t traditionally been known for its creative advertising, but it is filled with so much potential to break into the top markets. Ad2 gives us an opportunity to elevate the incredibly smart, well-educated, hungry people and beautiful artists living and working right here in D.C.”

    Katie Steiner | Remnant Solutions Assistant, Intermarkets

    Katie moved to DC to go to the George Washington University. After graduating in 2010
    with a double major in marketing and sports management, she decided to stick around
    DC. Katie is a Remnant Solutions Assistant at Intermarkets, an independent advertising
    sales management services firm located in Reston, VA. She is responsible for optimizing,
    trafficking, and quality assurance for Intermarkets’ largest property, The Drudge Report.

    Favorite place in DC: King Street in Old Town – great walk with lots of historical buildings

    Why she loves AD2: “Ad2 is a great organization to meet new people who share the same
    interests as you as well as to grow as a young professional in the marketing and advertising
    industry.”

    Strange but true: “I once bought a live chicken from Chinatown with my cousin and walked
    it down Ocean Beach in San Francisco. We later freed it in Golden Gate Park.”

  • Public Service Chair

    Wayne Kan | Art Director, Ketchum Digital

    Wayne Alan Kan serves as Art Director on Ketchum Washington’s Digital team. He provides art direction and graphic design throughout a wide range of media including print, web/interactive and video/TV production.

    Wayne brings 8 years of design and art direction experience in the fields of advertising, marketing, non-profit, magazine publication and most recently, public relations. Wayne’s expertise exists in creative development. He is passionate about typographical design and visual execution in everything he does.

    His list of clientele comes in the form of both consumer and business-to-business experience. He is a long-standing member of the American Advertising Federation/Ad 2 and the American Institute of Graphic Arts and has held multiple positions on each of their respective board of directors, as well as lectured at Universities and private art schools throughout his home state of Florida.

    Wayne carries a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Central Florida and has been the recipient of multiple Telly and Addy awards, as well as had his work internationally published in Lurzers Archive magazine.

    Why he loves AD2: It’s an opportunity to advance your career thru professional and personal growth.

    Favorite place in DC: Lincoln Memorial. It’s the closest we come in this country to the kind of art and sculpture seen throughout Italy and Europe.

    Strange but true: I’m Hispanic and speak fluent spanish. Parents are from Argentina but no one usually ever knows because of how white we are and the fact that I was born and raised here.

    Natalie Julich

    A creative at heart, Natalie enjoys integrating design into every part in her life. Her early love for aesthetics was cultivated into a lifelong relationship with marketing and advertising. She grew up in Missouri and graduated from one of the best journalism schools in the country. Since then, Natalie has worked in Kansas City, New York, and Washington DC with such brands as .ORG, Lexus, BIC, HomeGoods, and Gowalla.

    Natalie is the second person to chair the social committee for Ad 2 DC.

    Why she loves AD2: I haven’t found another place where so many young, talented, and caring professionals unite to educate themselves and make lifelong connections.

    Favorite place in DC: The Gibson

    Strange but true: I am a certified storm spotter. Translation: I alert the National Weather Service of weather conditions on the ground like precipitation accumulation, wind, hail, funnel clouds, and tornadoes.

    Vicky Vadlamani | Senior Account Executive, OmniStudio

    Vicky is a self-proclaimed nerd and lover of all things Apple, with over six years of
    experience managing the marketing efforts of national brands and accounts. She is an
    experienced project manager with success in promoting strategic vision through design
    and development. Vicky currently is a Senior Account Executive at OmniStudio, Inc., a
    web design and development firm with a large non-profit client base.

    Famous advertising slogan that best describes her:“They plump when you cook ‘em!” (Ballpark Dogs)

    Why she loves AD2: It’s great being able to meet people in similar industries at the same level, and if you are new to the area, there is no better way to network.

    Favorite place in DC: I love Adams Morgan during the week, especially in the summer. And Meridian Hill Park is the best place to be on Sunday afternoons.

    Strange but true: Double jointed elbows that look like broken arms in pictures.

  • Website Chair

    Joshua Belhumeur | Senior Account Manager, BRINK

    Joshua got his bachelor of science in Marketing at the University of Arizona in Tucson. It was also around this time that he began working as a website developer at BRINK Media. A few Webby and Addy awards later, he crossed the boundaries from production to strategy and moved out to D.C. to take care of BRINK’s major east coast accounts and evangelize the agency. He currently directs BRINK’s east coast sales and marketing efforts and manages its largest accounts.

    On his free time, he is a highly accomplished drummer and respectable guitar and bass player; he once wrote and recorded an entire jazz album in one night with his best friend and collaborator and raised $3,500 from its sale to attend a business conference in Nashville. He also occasionally designs and programs websites on his spare time, working on the next great dot com start-up.

    Why he loves AD2: “Great way to make friends when you are in a new city and to quickly learn about and contribute to the industry I love so much right here in the D.C. market.”

    Favorite place in DC: “East Potomac Park (Still amazed by the sight of water, I came from the desert you know).”

    Strange but true: I have a minor obsession with pandas. As laid back and emotionless as I tend to be, I still giggle like a schoolgirl at the sight of them.
