Join a Committee
After you’ve become an Ad2 member, you’re eligible to join a committee and be a real part of the action. By joining a committee, you can increase your level of networking with other members, have a direct influence in an area of personal interest, and demonstrate your value within the Ad Club community. It’ll also give you the chance to get recognition for yourself and your company, and have even more fun! Membership
Out on the frontlines at every event, the Membership Committee works to show all members the value of their investment in Ad2. This committee gets the member base involved through activities and programs designed to enhance club membership recruitment, retention and involvement. Committee responsibilities include:
- Creating a membership drive
- Developing a membership kit
- Recruiting potential members
- Retaining members

Communications
The Communications Committee develops communications efforts for updating and keeping in touch with prospects, members, students and the local community. Stay in touch with the industry by helping us provide the latest local news with regular email updates and monthly meeting invitations. Committee responsibilities include:
- Newsletter
- Ad2 DC Blog maintenance
- Copywriting

Design
The Design Committee aids with the branding and appearance of all Ad 2 communications. Committee responsibilities include:
- Branding for events/programs
- Design of collateral materials
- Aiding other committees with creative needs

Advertising Education
Graduating students are some of the best candidates for future Ad2 members. This committee visits college campuses to educate students about the benefits of Ad2 DC and maintain relationships with college presidents and professors. Committee responsibilities include:
- Conducting site visits to area campuses to recruit potential members
- Maintain contact with presidents and professors
- Plan workshops to support students with job placement
- Promote the Student ADDY Awards

Sponsorships
Ad2 DC depends on the support of sponsors to grow. Through sponsorships, Ad2 DC has the ability to generate membership materials, conduct fundraisers and donate a marketing campaign each year to a local non-profit organization. Event sponsors allow Ad2 DC to provide members with low-cost and free opportunities to attend networking and educational programs by donating venues, food/beverages, printing and prizes. Committee responsibilities include:
- Developing a sponsorship campaign, including collateral
- Identifying and soliciting sponsors to support overall or committee needs
- Maintaining contact list of sponsors
- Delivering upon sponsorship agreements

Programs
Informative, entertaining programs are at the heart of Ad2’s dedication to its members. The Programs Committee does everything from acquiring speakers to managing the venue to assisting with check-in services. Committee responsibilities include:
- Planning at least four programs throughout the year
- Brainstorming interesting topics
- Recruiting speakers
- Securing venues
- Working with the communications committee on deliverables

Public Relations
The Public Relations Committee maintains and enhances the image of Ad2 DC and raises awareness of the organization while assisting all other committees with their endeavors. Committee responsibilities include:
- Write and distribute press releases for events, programs and other Ad2 DC newsworthy items
- Maintain Ad2 social networks (MySpace, Facebook, LinkedIn Group, etc.)
- Provide promotional support to the Socials and Programs Committees
- Support the Communications Committee on blog and newsletter updating
- Utilize media vehicles and grassroots efforts to create awareness of Ad2 DC
- Assist the Public Service Committee as appropriate

Socials
The Socials Committee puts on quality programming that fosters actively interested membership, well-attended meetings and membership growth and helps to raise money for the club and our public service recipient. This committee works to create a fun, casual atmosphere in a relaxed environment. Committee responsibilities include:
- Event planning
- Budget maintenance
- Event sponsorships
- Working with the Communications Committee on deliverables

Public Service
The Public Service Committee selects a non-profit organization within the Washington, DC area and acts as their advertising agency from July through June in anticipation of the annual National Ad2 Public Service Competition. Depending on the organization’s needs, the committee does a full campaign for the year and/or plans a list of projects ranging from creative design to media planning and public relations. Committee responsibilities include:
- Graphic design
- Media planning
- Marketing
- Public Relations
- Account Service

Government Relations
The Government Relations Committee designs projects and programs to build effective relations with local, state and national governments. By monitoring legislative activity that affects the advertising industry, relationships are developed to initiate favorable legislation, contribute to the defeat of adverse legislation, educate lawmakers and promote industry self-regulation. Committee responsibilities include:
- Keeping membership up-to-date on issues affecting our agencies
- Creating useful links for the Ad2 website and newsletter
